Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and driven AI Research Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and mathematical modeling. As an AI Research Intern, you will assist in exploring the foundational aspects of AI, including the study of decision-making, motivation, free will, and consciousness within AI systems. Your work will contribute to our broader mission of preparing for a future where AGI plays a critical role in society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting research on the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence, particularly in areas related to decision-making, and goal-oriented behavior.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers to develop theoretical models and frameworks that could be applied to AI systems.
  • Analyze and interpret data from AI experiments, simulations, and other research activities.
  • Contribute to writing research papers, reports, and articles for publication in academic journals or presentation at conferences.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of innovative research ideas.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI, cognitive science, and related fields, and incorporate this knowledge into ongoing research projects.
  • Assist in organizing and documenting research processes, ensuring that all findings are well-recorded and accessible for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly those relevant to AI and machine learning.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • A deep interest in the philosophical and ethical implications of AI, especially in the context of AGI.
